Registration is open for the upcoming Regional Workers’ Safety Conference, scheduled for Thursday, September 24, at Independence Hall on the University of Arkansas Community College at Batesville (UACCB) campus. The event is organized by the Regional Industrial Safety Alliance (RISA) and co-sponsored by the Arkansas Department of Labor and Licensing.
Melissa Tate, RISA president and safety director at FutureFuel Chemical Company, announced details of the event during a recent interview. The conference is aimed at industrial personnel, long-term care administrators, and nurses. Healthcare professionals in attendance can earn five hours of approved continuing education credit for long-term care.
The conference opens with registration at 7:30 a.m., accompanied by complimentary coffee and pastries. Attendees will receive a full day of workplace safety sessions, as well as a catered taco bar lunch provided by Sarah-Dipity. The registration fee is $25 if completed in advance, with a $10 surcharge for late registration.
In addition to safety education, attendees will have the opportunity to meet adoptable cats from a local animal shelter, which will have pets available for viewing outside the venue.
Registration can be completed online via the Arkansas Department of Labor and Licensing website. For more details, contact RISA or visit the department’s website.
