A Lead Hill man remains in custody following his arrest for allegedly assaulting his 76-year-old father, marking the second time he's been charged with the same crime, according to Boone County officials. Nathan Samuel Worley, 35, faces two felony counts of second-degree domestic battery and two misdemeanor charges, including first-degree criminal mischief and fleeing on foot.
According to the probable cause affidavit from the Boone County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to Worley’s parents’ home last month after a 911 call reported a domestic disturbance. When officers arrived, Worley had already fled the scene. Emergency responders attended to his father, who had sustained a facial injury from being slapped while wearing glasses. Worley’s mother also reported injuries, stating that her son had squeezed her head.
The affidavit states that Worley entered the house, threw a chair into the television—breaking it—before grabbing his mother and then assaulting his father. He reportedly left the scene in his parents’ vehicle, later returned it, and fled again on foot. A warrant for Worley’s arrest was issued, and he was taken into custody four days later.
Worley is being held on a $10,000 bond under the condition that he has no contact with his parents.
Court records indicate that Worley has a history of violent offenses in Boone County, including a prior incident in 2017 where he assaulted his father and daughter. Following his release from jail, Worley became hostile with his father, attacked his daughter, and struck both with a stick. He was ultimately sentenced to 90 days in jail and probation after a plea agreement reduced the initial charges.
In 2025, Worley was convicted of second-degree battery after assaulting a man who attempted to intervene in a physical altercation between Worley and his wife. Earlier this year, he was arrested during a domestic dispute when deputies said they found drugs in his possession after responding to the incident. That case remains pending in the Boone County court system.
