The Mountain Home City Council will convene Thursday evening at 5 to discuss a range of items including the lease and financing of a hydro excavator truck and several zoning changes.
Under new business, the council will review a resolution authorizing Mayor Hillrey Adams to enter into a lease agreement with River City Hydraulics of Sherwood and a financing agreement with Arvest Bank of Little Rock for a hydro excavator truck. The truck, mounted on a Freightliner 114SD chassis, carries a total cost of $565,093. The proposal will be presented by city official Steve Hill.
Zoning issues will also feature prominently on the agenda, with three ordinance proposals. Ted Sanders will present two zoning change requests: one to reclassify an area at the end of Parkway Drive, northwest of The Grand, from Residential R-3 to Residential R-4, and the other to rezone a property at 1377 Highway 62B from Commercial C-2 to Commercial C-4. A third ordinance, presented by Jeff Quick, would rezone land at the intersection of Highland Parkway and Highland Circle from Commercial C-2 to Commercial C-2A, while also granting a variance for agricultural production.
The council will consider additional ordinances addressing personnel policies, regulatory measures, and fee structures. Toni Taylor will present a revision to the City's personnel policy handbook and the accompanying repeal of Ordinance No. 2026-22. Meanwhile, Scott Liles will present a proposal to establish new filing fees for petitions to the Planning Commission and City Council, repealing Ordinances No. 1990-23 and 2023-21.
An ordinance regulating mobile vendors, food trucks, and food truck courts will also be reviewed, with Hillrey Adams, Scott Liles, and Todd Pease lending their input. This ordinance seeks to replace the regulations outlined in Ordinances No. 2020-25 and 2020-48.
The meeting will take place in the council chambers of the Municipal Building, located at 720 Hickory Street. The session is open to the public.
