The annual Mountains, Music & Motorcycles festival will take over downtown Mountain View on September 18-19, offering a weekend filled with live music, motorcycle activities, games, and local flair.
The event, which attracts riders and visitors from across the region, is centered around the historic courthouse square. Amy Turpin, the event organizer, described the festival as an energetic celebration that highlights the unique charm of Mountain View. “We want people to come for the motorcycles but stay for the whole experience,” Turpin said.
Festivities kick off on Friday with Poker Run registration at 8 a.m., followed by the official opening ceremony at 9:30 a.m., which includes a presentation of flags, the Blessing of the Bikes, and the National Anthem. Throughout the weekend, attendees can enjoy an array of activities such as biker games, mini-trike races, cornhole, Chicken Bingo, a pie-eating contest, a tattoo contest, the Loudest Pipes competition, and a variety of bike and trike competitions.
For motorcycle enthusiasts, the festival also offers opportunities to explore some of the most scenic routes in Arkansas, such as Push Mountain, the lake ride, and the Big Dam ride. These routes, combined with the lively downtown atmosphere, make the event a popular draw.
Live music is a central focus of the festival, with performances planned on the Main Stage throughout both days. Friday’s lineup includes Jude Brawner, Brewster & Company, and the duo Cliff & Susan, while Saturday will feature Isabella Love, Boone, Scott & Roni, Red 21, and Bad Habit. In addition to the scheduled performances, impromptu music sessions in Mountain View’s famous Pickin’ Park will offer a glimpse of the town’s music culture.
Beyond the motorcycles and music, organizers encourage visitors to explore all that Mountain View has to offer. Known as the "Folk Music Capital of the World," the town showcases small-town charm, local shopping, outdoor recreation opportunities, and a welcoming atmosphere.
Event organizers recommend planning ahead, as lodging options such as cabins, campgrounds, and vacation rentals are expected to book quickly. The festival is supported by local businesses, volunteers, and sponsors, including Gregory Polaris Indian Motorcycle of Little Rock and Mountain View Chevrolet.
