JONESBORO — Thirty-three faculty members from Arkansas State University have earned the Effective Teaching certification from the Association of College and University Educators (ACUE). The accomplishment was celebrated earlier this month during a pinning ceremony attended by Petra Kohlmann, ACUE’s senior partnership director.
“Special thanks to Dr. Melanie Wicinski and Dr. Jill Simons for their leadership and for making the evening such a thoughtful celebration of A-State's faculty,” Kohlmann said during the event.
This marks the fifth group of Arkansas State educators to complete the program since it began. With the addition of this year’s participants, the university now has 136 ACUE-certified faculty members.
ACUE is nationally recognized for its year-long professional development program, which equips educators with evidence-based teaching practices aimed at enhancing student learning outcomes. Training for a new group of A-State faculty members seeking certification is currently underway.
