A total of 29 artists in Baxter and Marion counties will participate in the 15th annual Art Odyssey Studio Tour later this month, inviting the public to explore their creative spaces. The self-guided event is scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 24, through Saturday, Sept. 26, running daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The tour allows visitors to see as many studios as they wish at their own pace, with no tickets required. Participating artists include painters, potters, sculptors, photographers, and others working in various media. Attendees will have the chance to watch demonstrations, learn about artistic techniques and inspiration, and purchase original artwork directly from the creators.
Free tour guide booklets with studio locations and driving directions can be picked up at the Donald W. Reynolds Library Serving Baxter County, the Mountain Home Area Chamber of Commerce, and other local businesses. Organizers also encourage visitors to preview the event by viewing the Art Odyssey Sneak Peek Exhibit, now on display at the Reynolds Library. The exhibit features one piece from each artist on the tour.
For those planning their visit, organizers suggest making it a full-day or weekend experience by combining studio stops with visits to downtown shops and restaurants.
