A county-wide autumn clean-up event is underway in Fulton County, giving residents an opportunity to dispose of unwanted items for free through Friday.

The collection site is located at the county landfill on Veterans Way, off Highway 395 north of Salem. Items such as furniture, appliances, electronics, and general junk can be dropped off between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. daily this week. Hazardous materials are not accepted.

This free program is available exclusively to Fulton County residents. To participate, individuals must visit the Fulton County Judge’s Office at the courthouse in Salem before heading to the landfill. There, they can verify their residency and obtain a certificate that grants them permission to use the waste disposal service.

For residents living outside city limits who prefer to use Waste Connections services, the Judge's Office is also offering a 20% discount. Proof of residency must be provided to qualify for the discount.

For more information on the clean-up effort, residents are encouraged to contact the Fulton County Judge’s Office at 870-895-3341.
