JONESBORO, Ark. — A hotel guest in Jonesboro has been accused of using stolen credit card information to pay for a two-night stay, according to a probable cause affidavit filed in the case.
Jamario Thomas, 23, faces charges of theft by receiving involving a credit or debit card or account number, a Class D felony, and fraudulent use of a credit card, a Class A misdemeanor, court documents show.
The incident was reported to the Jonesboro Police Department on Dec. 30, 2025, when the cardholder discovered an unauthorized charge of $210.68 on their account. Investigators say the unauthorized payment was used to book a hotel room on Dec. 24, 2025.
According to the affidavit, hotel management provided registration records and surveillance video from the check-in. Investigators compared an image from the hotel’s surveillance footage with Thomas’s driver’s license photo, leading to his identification.
On Sept. 14, Judge Tommy Fowler determined there was probable cause to detain Thomas pending further court proceedings. Bond has been set at $15,000 cash or surety. A public defender has been appointed to represent him.
Thomas is scheduled to appear in Craighead County Circuit Court in Jonesboro at 8:30 a.m. on Oct. 26, 2025.
As with all criminal cases, Thomas is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
