In the highly anticipated SEC contest, Utah defeated Arkansas 43-10. Meanwhile, Arkansas State dominated West Georgia, securing a decisive 52-7 victory. A double-overtime thriller ended with Alcorn State edging Arkansas-Pine Bluff 53-51. Central Arkansas also delivered a commanding performance, defeating Central Oklahoma 59-20.
Division II action included Southern Arkansas slipping past Southern Nazarene 27-21 and Henderson State routing Oklahoma Baptist 66-9. Ouachita Baptist earned a close 23-17 win over Southeastern Oklahoma State.
In other results, Houston Christian overpowered Arkansas Baptist with an 88-0 shutout, Lyon College claimed a 21-14 victory against Illinois College, and Hendrix fell to Huntingdon College 26-20.
Thursday’s early games featured strong showings by Harding, who defeated Southwestern Oklahoma State 37-14, and Arkansas Tech, who secured a 34-29 win over Northwestern Oklahoma State. Arkansas-Monticello came up short against East Central, losing 42-37.
