The Adult Education team at the University of Arkansas Community College at Batesville (UACCB) is hosting an open house on Thursday, September 17, to mark Adult Education and Family Literacy Week. Community members in Independence and Sharp counties are encouraged to attend to explore free educational and workforce services.
The event aims to inform attendees about UACCB's Adult Education programs, which are available at no cost to eligible residents through state and federal grant funding. Services include GED preparation, English as a Second Language (ESL) instruction, workforce training, and employment preparation.
The open house will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at two locations:
- UACCB Adult Education Building — Main Campus, 2005 White Drive, Batesville, AR 72501 - Sharp County Adult Education Center — Highland Campus, 33 Choctaw Center, Cherokee Village, AR 72529
Visitors can enjoy free refreshments while reviewing highlights of the Adult Education program’s successes and initiatives over the past year. Representatives from the team will also be available to discuss how the services can help individuals improve their education, gain job skills, or achieve career goals.
