Lawrence County Judge Gary Barnhill has lifted the burn ban for the county following substantial rainfall late last week. According to Barnhill, most areas of Lawrence County received more than three inches of rain between Thursday night and Friday morning.
The rainfall provided enough relief to ease dry conditions that had prompted the ban. However, Judge Barnhill stated that he will continue to monitor weather patterns and local conditions in the coming days to determine if any changes to safety measures are necessary.
Residents are advised to remain cautious during outdoor burning and check for updated information in case conditions shift.
