A Texas man died Saturday morning in a motorcycle collision on Arkansas State Highway 5 in southern Baxter County.
The Arkansas State Police (ASP) identified the victim as 74-year-old Douglas Whipple of Lake Jackson, Texas. According to the ASP’s crash report, the accident occurred at approximately 8:45 a.m. near the intersection of Dwelle Road in the Old Joe area.
Investigators say Whipple’s motorcycle crossed the highway’s centerline and collided with another vehicle. No additional details regarding the other vehicle or its occupants were available in the report.
ASP released the crash report on Thursday. The incident remains under investigation, and no further information has been provided at this time.
