A fire in Bull Shoals on Wednesday night destroyed a detached garage, heavily damaged an adjacent lean-to, and caused minor siding damage to the associated residence. Firefighters were able to prevent the blaze from spreading further into the home, and no injuries were reported.
Bull Shoals Fire Chief Brent Mitchell reported that the fire began in the detached garage at 1007 Lakeshore Drive, where the homeowners, identified as the McKnights, were present at the time. Fire crews managed to contain the flames and preserve most of the house, though the garage was a total loss. The siding on the house sustained damage, and the nearby lean-to was significantly affected.
The fire was reported at 10:12 p.m., and units remained on the scene until 12:22 a.m. Thursday. Bull Shoals firefighters received assistance from Flippin and Grover Township fire departments during the response.
Chief Mitchell stated that the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
