Jonesboro High School will host Valley View Friday evening for their football matchup, and school officials have announced several changes and guidelines for attendees. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the Jonesboro High School stadium.
According to school officials, tickets for the game are available exclusively online and are limited to 6,000. As of Thursday morning, approximately 3,500 tickets had already been sold.
Jonesboro Athletic Director Trey Harding outlined several adjustments aimed at improving safety and convenience for the event. “We’ve definitely brought in more security,” Harding said. He also highlighted changes in concessions, including the addition of food trucks, an extra drink vendor, and two additional drink stations to ease congestion at the main concession area.
Parking has also been addressed with overflow options and shuttle services. Drivers are directed to park in the designated overflow area on the band field. From there, GoJo will provide shuttle services starting at 5 p.m., transporting fans from the Highland Drive Baptist Church parking lot to the new CVS bus stop near the stadium. Shuttles will continue to run for approximately 30 minutes after the game's conclusion.
Harding emphasized that fans will not be allowed on the field without official media credentials. Additionally, students younger than 10th grade must be accompanied by an adult. At the end of the game, students are expected to contact their rides immediately. Officers will remain onsite until all students have been picked up.
Harding urged parents to be timely in retrieving their children. “Most of the employees and staff have been here since 7 a.m. that morning,” he said, noting the long hours put in by game day staff. “We would ask that parents do pick their kids up at the right time, so our employees can go home for the afternoon or the night.”
The game and these new measures aim to provide a smoother, safer experience for fans attending one of the most anticipated local matchups of the season.
