The Batesville Preservation Association has announced its 2026 grant application period, which will be open from October 1 through December 31. Two types of grants are available to support the preservation and restoration of historic properties in the area.

Businesses and nonprofit organizations operating in historic buildings may apply for matching grants for the preservation and restoration of both interior and exterior features. Additionally, owners of historic homes are eligible for matching grants specifically for exterior restoration or preservation projects. However, routine maintenance, such as painting, does not qualify for funding. Eligible projects include replacing missing shutters or railings, reconstructing missing porches, and other efforts to restore historically significant architectural elements.

Interested applicants can send inquiries to preservebatesville@gmail.com for further details about the program.

The Batesville Preservation Association has long been committed to preserving the region’s architectural heritage through community-driven initiatives like these grants.
