BROOKLAND, Ark. — A crash on US Highway 49B at the northern end of Brookland has halted traffic, officials confirmed Thursday.
According to Jonesboro E911, the road is completely closed as emergency crews respond to the scene. Craighead County Assistant Chief Deputy Jason Allen stated that Arkansas State Police are leading the investigation and a helicopter has been requested to assist with the situation.
Drivers are urged to avoid the area near the intersection of US 49 and US 49B and use alternate routes.
