The Sunken Lands Songwriting Circle concert, scheduled for Saturday, September 19, at Arkansas State University's Fowler Center, has been canceled due to an unexpected medical issue involving host Rosanne Cash.
The announcement was made by the Historic Dyess Colony: Johnny Cash Boyhood Home, which organizes the annual event. Cash, the eldest daughter of music legend Johnny Cash, is currently under her doctors’ care and has been advised to avoid travel and performing temporarily.
"We regret that we have to cancel this year’s event, but we wish Rosanne the best as she recovers," said Dr. Adam Long, director of the Arkansas State University Heritage Sites. "We want to thank everyone for their support of the Sunken Lands Songwriting Circle."
The concert was slated to feature performances by acclaimed artists Ruthie Foster and Rhett Miller. Attendees who purchased tickets will receive automatic refunds to their original payment method. Refunds are expected to process within 5-7 business days.
