Jonesboro—Arkansas State University has teamed up with GOJO to provide free transportation services to its students, faculty, and staff, enhancing mobility across campus and in Jonesboro as the fall semester begins.
The partnership includes two on-campus routes, Red Wolves 1 and 2, which ensure constant transit around the university and connect with Jonesboro’s public transit system. According to Lee Wells, director of GOJO, the goal is to offer a comprehensive, no-cost travel solution for the campus community. Passengers simply need to present their A-State ID to access these services.
“This ever-growing partnership allows students, faculty, and staff to reliably navigate to Jonesboro’s many restaurants, stores and entertainment free of charge,” said Ryan Brasher, GOJO marketing coordinator.
The collaboration also includes enhanced game-day transportation through the "Red Wolves Express," which begins service with the first home football game on Saturday, Sept. 12. The shuttle will provide convenient rides to Centennial Bank Stadium, picking up and dropping off passengers in front of the stadium entrance.
“Transportation service will begin two hours before kickoff and continue until kickoff. We will resume service at halftime and continue until 30 minutes after the final whistle,” said Wells. Parking for shuttle riders will be available at the free downtown lot on Cate Avenue at Church Street, with additional stops on campus, including at the Yard restaurant.
GOJO is also providing transportation for the Lauren Alaina concert on the same day, offering rides starting two hours before the event begins.
Students, A-State employees, and children under six can take advantage of these game-day services without charge. Adults 18 and older pay $4 round trip or $2 each way, while passengers under 18, seniors, and individuals with disabilities ride for $1. Season passes are also available at $20 per person, with discounted rates of $10 for City of Jonesboro employees, students under 18, seniors, passengers with disabilities, and veterans.
Passes and round-trip tickets can be purchased in advance at the Jonesboro Municipal Building, City Collector’s Office, located at 300 S. Church St. One-way fares can also be paid directly on the bus, though season passes will not be sold onboard.
GOJO also supported A-State’s campus move-in activities earlier this season. For move-in day, shuttles transported students and their families from parking areas to residence halls, reducing congestion around high-traffic pedestrian zones.
