Several Northeast Arkansas schools will benefit from $90,000 awarded in youth literacy grants by the Dollar General Literacy Foundation.
According to a news release, the funds will support professional development and provide books, technology, equipment, and educational materials. The grants are part of a larger $4.1 million initiative distributed across the country by the foundation.
“When students have access to books, technology and educational resources, they gain tools that can support their learning for years to come,” said Denine Torr, the foundation’s executive director.
The grants aim to enhance student literacy and help schools meet pressing educational needs. Arkansas schools, libraries, and nonprofit organizations are among the grant recipients.
