JONESBORO, Ark. — A woman is facing multiple drug and evidence-tampering charges following a routine traffic stop on September 9, during which suspected methamphetamine was later found in a patrol vehicle where she had been seated, according to authorities.

Tiffany Ann Dowdy has been charged with felony possession of methamphetamine or cocaine less than 2 grams, felony second-offense possession of drug paraphernalia, felony tampering with physical evidence, and misdemeanor possession of a Schedule IV or V controlled substance less than 28 grams.

According to a probable cause affidavit, a white Jeep without a visible license plate was pulled over by police in Jonesboro. Dowdy was identified as the driver, and Rodney Younger was identified as the passenger. Authorities learned that Younger was on probation, prompting a search of his person and the immediate vicinity within the vehicle. No contraband was discovered during this search, the affidavit states.

Investigators were informed that Younger had a hotel room at 3000 Apache Drive, where Dowdy had reportedly been staying with him. Officers conducted a probation search of the room and reportedly located women’s clothing in a dresser drawer along with a glass pipe that appeared to contain methamphetamine residue.

Following the search at the hotel, officers returned to the scene of the traffic stop and conducted a K-9-assisted sniff around the Jeep. The K-9 reportedly detected the odor of drugs coming from the vehicle. Officers then searched the Jeep and allegedly recovered two loose pills identified as 1-milligram clonazepam from Dowdy’s purse.

Dowdy was arrested and taken to the Craighead County Detention Center. During intake, authorities stated they discovered a prescription pill bottle in her clothing. Subsequently, officers searched the back of the patrol vehicle where Dowdy had been sitting and reported finding approximately 1.46 grams of suspected methamphetamine on the floor of the car. This led to an additional charge of felony tampering with physical evidence.

Court records show Dowdy's bond was set at $10,000 cash or surety. Her next court hearing is scheduled for October 26 at 8:30 a.m. in Craighead County.

All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
