IMBODEN – The Arkansas Fallen Heroes Flag Memorial is on display through Sunday in Imboden, offering residents and visitors an opportunity to honor service members from the state who died in military service beginning September 11, 2001.
Located at the S&H Quick Shop on Highway 63, the memorial features rows of 3-by-5-foot American flags, each accompanied by a placard detailing a short personal story of an Arkansas service member who lost their life. Visitors are invited to walk among the flags to read the individual stories and reflect.
Organizers note that the memorial remains a powerful sight day and night, particularly when illuminated after dark. The display, which has become an annual tradition in Imboden during the September 11 commemoration period, is the result of efforts led by Judy and Eldon Henderson of S&H Quick Shop, along with contributions from other supporters.
The memorial will remain open around the clock until it concludes on Sunday night, offering the public a solemn and meaningful way to pay tribute to Arkansas’s fallen heroes.
