GREENE COUNTY, Ark. — The Greene County Fair promises a lively weekend with gospel music and a demolition derby headlining the festivities, according to fair manager Dennis Hammon.
“Thursday we’ll have gospel singing. Friday and Saturday night we’ll have a demolition derby,” Hammon explained, encouraging visitors to attend despite the warm weather.
The fair, which has been underway this week, offers various scheduled activities and amusement rides. Hammon noted that ride hours will differ based on the day. On Wednesday and Thursday, rides are open from 5 to 10 p.m., while Friday night rides continue until 11 p.m. For Saturday, fair gates open at 10 a.m., with rides beginning at 12 p.m. and continuing through the evening.
Daily wristbands are priced at $20 per person, allowing unlimited rides. As part of a mid-week special, Wednesday also features "Buddy Night," in which two wristbands are available for $30.
Additional attractions include nightly family circus performances, scheduled for 7 and 9 p.m., and karaoke on Thursday from 6 to 9 p.m.
Gate admission to the fair is $3 for children ages 3 to 12 and $6 for those 13 and older. Children under 3 years old enter for free. Gate admission prices are separate from ride costs, and all payments must be made in cash.
