Greene County Tech School District in Paragould is putting the finishing touches on its stadium renovation, with plans to unveil the upgraded facility later this week.
Assistant Superintendent Kodie Potter confirmed that work on the stadium, which began in April, is set to be completed in time for Friday night's football game. "It will be finished by Thursday for us to have the football game, and then we will probably have to go back in and finish up a few things that’s left over in the stadium and concession stand," Potter explained.
The updated facility will serve a broader purpose than just hosting football games. Potter emphasized that all students at the district’s main campus will have access to the field during school hours, creating opportunities for a variety of activities. "Sometimes we talk about it and we think about football, but actually, all of our students on the main campus have access to the field during the day," Potter said.
Laying the new sod on the field required additional community support. Potter credited the work of volunteers from the GCT Quarterback Club, led by Justin Pillow, for helping ensure the completion of this essential step.
The renovations will be officially celebrated Friday evening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and grand opening event, just ahead of the game.
