Kirsten Cotter, a registered nurse at Baxter Health since 2001, has transitioned into a new role as an advanced practice registered nurse at the Baxter Health Gastroenterology Clinic. Starting Tuesday, September 8, Cotter will begin seeing patients alongside Dr. Abodunrin S. Badejo, Dr. William S. Dyer Sr., and nurse practitioners Patricia Acklin, Kimber Jensen, and Amanda Stricklin, according to a news release from Baxter Health.
Cotter’s career with Baxter Health spans more than two decades, during which she has served as both a registered nurse and a charge nurse in various capacities across the health system. Throughout this time, Cotter pursued her advanced practice education while maintaining her nursing responsibilities. She earned a master’s degree in nursing and a Doctor of Nursing Practice from Missouri State University. Her varied experience includes burn unit care at Arkansas Children’s Hospital, float pool and charge nursing assignments, and time as a clinical instructor at Missouri State University’s West Plains campus.
In her new role, Cotter will help address a range of digestive system conditions, including acid reflux, irritable bowel syndrome, inflammatory bowel disease, and liver disease. The clinic also performs essential procedures like colorectal cancer screenings.
