A Lead Hill man with an extensive criminal history has been arrested following an alleged break-in, assault, and theft at a woman’s apartment in Boone County.
Roland Keith Rogers, 48, is facing four charges in connection with the incident, including felony counts of residential burglary and aggravated assault, as well as misdemeanor charges of third-degree domestic battery and first-degree interference with emergency communication. According to a probable cause affidavit from the Boone County Sheriff’s Office, law enforcement was contacted after the victim sought treatment at North Arkansas Regional Medical Center (NARMC).
Deputies met with the victim at NARMC, where she reported that Rogers had forced his way into her apartment. She claimed that he accused her of stealing his phone and money before attacking her. The victim told investigators that Rogers grabbed her by the neck, choked her, flung her around her residence, and slammed her head into the wall. Hospital staff told deputies that the woman had arrived wearing only a bedsheet.
When deputies inspected the victim’s apartment, they found the door open, furniture overturned, and property scattered throughout the home. Additional details indicate that a phone belonging to the victim had been taken.
Rogers was later arrested and released after posting a $10,000 bond. His criminal record includes 11 prior felony arrests, with offenses in Boone and Newton Counties spanning back to 1996. His convictions include crimes such as commercial burglary, residential burglary, theft, multiple drug-related charges, battery, carrying prohibited weapons, terroristic threatening, and other offenses. He has previously served time in the Arkansas Department of Corrections and the Boone County Jail, in addition to having been placed on probation.
Authorities said that the investigation into the incident remains ongoing.
