Live music and community gatherings promise to create a festive atmosphere this Labor Day weekend across North Central Arkansas. Notable events include a benefit concert in Greers Ferry and four consecutive nights of performances in Mountain View.
In Greers Ferry, the third annual Rock-2-Roll benefit concert at Greers Ferry City Park will feature Memphis-based band Lucero as the headliner. Proceeds from the event will fund the construction of a new community skate park. Gates open at 11 a.m., with local vendors, food trucks, and a kids' zone available throughout the day. Live music begins at 3 p.m. with performances by Amber Rae Dunn, Rowdy Franks, and The Chris Baker Band. Lucero is scheduled to take the stage at 8 p.m. Tickets are $35 in advance and $40 on the day of the event. Children 12 and under will be admitted free.
In Mountain View, the city’s holiday festivities will be centered on the town square with four straight evenings of live music. Performances begin at 8 p.m. each night, starting Friday, Sept. 4, with Aaron Owens. Dixon Street is slated for Saturday, Sept. 5, followed by the band 7 South on Sunday, Sept. 6. The weekend concludes on Monday, Sept. 7, with Sarah Jo Sample and The Tonedaddys.
