Four individuals were taken into custody in Izard County last week, according to a statement from Sheriff Charley Melton. All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.

Dezeray Dancer, 21, of Horseshoe Bend, was arrested on July 13. She faces charges of third-degree domestic battery and endangering the welfare of a minor.

On July 15, authorities arrested Shane Butgereit, 63, of Brockwell, for contempt of court related to the Izard County Circuit Court.

Wesley Chastain, 32, of Oxford, was taken into custody on July 17 on a warrant issued by Fulton County for failure to pay fines associated with traffic violations. In addition, Chastain is awaiting formal charges for possession of a firearm by certain persons, driving while intoxicated (DWI), and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Finally, Mark Knighten, 40, of Hardy, was arrested on July 19 in connection with a warrant for failure to appear in Izard County District Court.
