The Sharp County Community Service Program reported a productive week of activity during the week of August 24, completing several community improvement projects across the region.
Among the accomplishments were tasks completed at the Cherokee Village Animal Control facility, the Sharp County Courthouse, Hopewell Cemetery, and the Tri-County Recycling location. According to local officials, the program provides an opportunity for inmates to pay off fines while contributing to their communities through service.
Brian Watson, the Community Service Coordinator for Sharp County, oversees the program, which continues to play a key role in maintaining and improving public spaces throughout the area.
