Trumann, Ark. — Human remains discovered during a police search in Trumann have been identified as Rebecca Lucille Montgomery, according to the Trumann Police Department.
Police located the remains on August 21 while executing a search warrant on a property in the area. The Arkansas State Crime Lab later confirmed the identity of the remains, Trumann police stated in a release.
The department did not provide further information about the circumstances of Montgomery’s disappearance or the search that led to the discovery of her remains.
“We ask that their privacy be respected as they continue to navigate this loss,” the Trumann Police Department said in a statement.
Law enforcement officials noted that the investigation remains active and ongoing.
