The Mountain Home Christian Academy (MHCA) Lady Eagles volleyball squads faced a packed schedule last week, playing a total of six matches over two days.

Earlier in the week, MHCA hosted Omaha for three matches. In junior high action, the Lady Eagles' B team secured a 25-19, 25-13 victory. The junior A team followed suit, winning in straight sets with scores of 25-18 and 25-12. Standout performances included Courtney Nichols, who recorded four kills, one block, and an ace; Trinity Robbins, with three kills, four aces, and a block; and Haley Friend, who added four kills and an ace to the win. Additional contributions came from Allie Shipman with two kills and seven aces, Lillian Gomes with two kills and five aces, and Reagan Souder, who had two kills.

However, the Lady Eagles varsity team was unable to secure a win in their match against Omaha. After dropping the first two sets 25-5 and 25-14, MHCA rallied to take the third set 25-23 but fell in the fourth set by the same score. In the loss, Amelia Schroeckenthaler led the team with nine kills, while Khloe Cotter added six kills and 11 assists. Adelaide Coghlan contributed five kills and three blocks, Kiley Bell provided eight assists, and Karlee Decker had eight digs.

On Thursday, the Lady Eagles traveled to Salem for another set of three matches. The junior B team continued its strong play, winning in straight sets again, both by scores of 25-19. The junior A team engaged in a close contest, claiming the first set 25-13 before narrowly losing the second set 25-23 and falling in the tiebreaker 15-7.

The varsity team also faced a tough battle at Salem, falling behind in the first two sets with scores of 25-19 and 25-21. The team rebounded to dominate the third set 25-14 but ultimately dropped the final set 25-18. Adelaide Coghlan led with 10 kills, six blocks, and five digs. Khloe Cotter recorded 19 assists and eight digs, Marie Claire Robinson added four kills and two blocks, and Karlee Decker had seven digs.

Throughout the week, the Lady Eagles demonstrated perseverance and teamwork, with several standout performances across all levels.
