The Mammoth Spring National Fish Hatchery is hosting its annual Youth Fish Fest on Tuesday, September 26, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. This free event invites children ages 15 and under to enjoy a day of fishing at the hatchery's Aquatic Conservation Center.
Participants are encouraged to bring their own fishing gear, including a bucket or cooler to hold their catch. Worms are the only live bait permitted. Attendees may also consider bringing a comfortable chair as seating is not provided.
Organizers have outlined several rules for the event to ensure the safety of attendees and the health of the fishery. Each participant is allowed to catch no more than three catfish. Live bait other than worms is strictly prohibited, and pets or emotional support animals are not allowed at the event. Visitors are asked to follow all guidelines and remain respectful to others.
