Former Hardy Police Chief Scott Rose, recently convicted of sexual assault, has been temporarily moved from the Independence County Detention Center in Batesville to the Sharp County Detention Center in Ash Flat for medical reasons, according to Sharp County Sheriff Shane Russell. The transfer was prompted by a condition requiring medical attention, Russell stated, and Rose is expected to be relocated again after being medically cleared.
The sheriff emphasized that this move is solely a temporary housing arrangement based on Rose's medical needs and does not signify any change in his legal status or sentencing.
Rose, who was found guilty of sexual assault by a Sharp County jury last week, has been in custody since his arrest last year. The nature of his upcoming transfer to another facility remains undetermined, pending his medical evaluation and clearance.
