Mountain Home's volleyball teams capped off their non-conference schedule with a strong showing on Thursday evening in Batesville. Multiple grades and skill levels competed, including seventh grade, eighth grade, ninth grade, junior varsity, and varsity. Each team delivered victories.
The evening opened with Mountain Home's seventh grade sweeping both 10-minute sets. The eighth-grade team followed with a 25-18 win in their single set, with standout performances from Emma Campbell and Emslee Brunette, who each served five aces in the match.
In junior high varsity action, Mountain Home earned its first conference win of the season, defeating Batesville in straight sets, 25-15 and 25-14. Allison Cooker led the charge with 11 kills, while Harper Hutchens and Sonya Krueger added seven digs apiece. In the junior varsity match, Mountain Home cruised past Batesville with a commanding 25-13 victory.
The varsity Lady Bombers, fresh off a five-set win against Jonesboro Westside earlier in the week, extended their momentum with a 3-0 sweep over Batesville. Mountain Home dominated the first set, finishing 25-14. The second set was a tense battle, requiring extra points, but the Lady Bombers prevailed 28-26. Despite trailing for much of the third set, Mountain Home closed with an 8-2 run to secure a 25-20 win.
Eliana Pepin, described as a versatile "Swiss army knife" for the team, delivered 13 kills and 12 digs in the match. Annyston Crooker, who was named Athlete of the Week earlier on Thursday, also tallied 13 kills. Aleigh Lucas added 10 kills, and Maycie Carlson contributed nine. Ava Jones and Violet Daugherty recorded nine digs apiece.
The Lady Bombers will begin 5A-West conference play on Tuesday with a home match against Farmington in The Hangar.
