Former Hardy Police Chief Scott Rose has been relocated from the Independence County Detention Center to the Sharp County Detention Center for medical reasons, according to Sharp County Sheriff Shane Russell.
Russell explained in a statement that Rose requires medical attention and will be housed temporarily in Sharp County. Once his medical condition is addressed and he is deemed medically cleared, Rose is expected to be moved to another detention facility. The change in housing is based solely on medical needs and does not affect his legal status or sentencing, Russell stated.
Rose was convicted on August 29 of sexual assault by a jury. He was originally arrested in 2025.
