In August, the City of Mountain Home issued 22 building permits, marking a combined construction value of $3,713,285. Of those, residential permits accounted for the larger share, amounting to $3,124,300 in total value, while commercial permits contributed $788,985.

Topping the list of projects was a $1.6 million residential remodel permit granted to Aaron and Lara May for a property located at 329 South Sheeks. Meanwhile, a notable commercial project involved a $617,873 addition for the Mountain Home Church of Christ, situated at 500 East North Street.

Additional residential projects included a $350,000 building addition permit issued to Lea Ann Kopczewski at 1753 Fairway Drive and four new residential permits of $120,000 each issued to JCT Ventures LLC for properties at 304, 306, 308, and 310 Nevada Avenue. Other residential accessory structures included a $25,000 project permitted for Ann Fry at 718 East 9th Street, a $4,500 project for Barbara Smith at 504 Ouachita Avenue, and a $5,600 permit for Sheila Pendley at 1000 Heatherdown.

In the commercial sector, smaller remodeling and signage projects contributed to the month's activity. Combs Construction Company obtained a remodel permit valued at $89,890, while Truck Patch received an $8,800 remodel permit. Total Physical Therapy undertook a minor commercial remodel with a construction value of $400. Several commercial sign permits were also issued, the largest being a $26,707 project for Access Medical Clinic, followed by East Side Baptist Church with a $25,000 project, and Burger King, which received an $8,980 permit.

The city's total revenue from permit fees amounted to $4,505.04, with $622.92 collected from residential permits and $2,782.12 from commercial permits.
