Paramount+ has announced the renewal of its critically acclaimed action-crime series *MobLand* for a third season. The news comes ahead of the premiere of the show’s second season, which is set to debut on the streaming platform on September 18.
The series stars Tom Hardy, Pierce Brosnan, and Helen Mirren and explores the struggles of two rival mob families caught in a violent war that threatens to unravel their empires and personal lives. Season two focuses on the Harrigan family, a powerful North London crime empire on the brink of internal collapse, while their rivals prepare to exploit the instability. Tom Hardy’s character, Harry Da Souza, serves as the family’s “fixer,” working to maintain fragile order as tensions rise within the organization.
The season two cast also features Paddy Considine, Joanne Froggatt, Lara Pulver, Anson Boon, Mandeep Dhillon, Jasmine Jobson, and Janet McTeer, alongside several others. Ronan Bennett, known for his work in crime dramas, created and co-wrote the series. Jez Butterworth co-wrote the scripts alongside Bennett, with executive production led by David C. Glasser.
*MobLand* debuted to strong viewership numbers and widespread praise. According to Chris McCarthy, co-CEO of Paramount and president of SHOWTIME/MTV Entertainment, the series has reached over 26 million viewers, driven by its gripping narrative and powerhouse performances. McCarthy credited the show’s success to its creative team and lead actors Tom Hardy, Pierce Brosnan, and Helen Mirren.
Season two will consist of 10 episodes, with new episodes dropping every Friday, culminating in a finale set to stream on November 20.
The renewal ensures fans will continue to explore the world of *MobLand* beyond its already highly anticipated second season.
