Military veterans living in Tuckerman now have the opportunity to receive a free trash can, courtesy of a donation from the City of Jonesboro.
The City of Tuckerman announced Thursday that 10 trash cans are available to local veterans at no cost. According to officials, the program is intended to show appreciation for veterans in the community while underscoring the value of collaboration between cities.
“When communities work together, great things happen,” city officials stated in a Facebook post.
To qualify for the program, veterans must reside within Tuckerman and provide a valid Tuckerman address. Supplies, however, are limited. Trash cans will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis, with a maximum of one per household.
Veterans who wish to reserve a bin are encouraged to contact the city directly as soon as possible.
