Nonprofit organizations and community-based groups seeking to improve their grant-writing skills have an opportunity to learn from experts later this month. A workshop titled 'Capacity Building Through Grant Writing' is scheduled for Tuesday, September 29, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Arkansas State University–Mountain Home (ASUMH).
Hosted by the University of Arkansas System Division of Agriculture – Baxter County Extension, the event will focus on equipping participants with tools to craft more effective grant proposals. It also aims to help attendees identify resources and partnerships to support their community-focused projects.
Hunter P. Goodman, Ph.D., an assistant professor of Community, Workforce, and Economic Development, will lead the session. Goodman is expected to provide practical insights into grant-writing techniques, available funding sources, and strategies for building collaborations that enhance an organization’s capacity to successfully pursue grants.
The workshop will take place in the Trout Room at The Sheid building, located on the ASUMH campus at 489 Kings Circle in Mountain Home. Lunch will be provided for attendees, courtesy of sponsorship by the Twin Lakes Community Foundation. Organizer Kimberly Jones is supporting the event.
Whether attendees are new to grant writing or seeking to refine their skills, the workshop promises actionable advice and resources to strengthen funding efforts for organizations and their communities.
