The Baxter County Youth Shooting Sports Club achieved noteworthy results at the Arkansas State Range Events Competition recently held in Bentonville.
The event highlighted participants’ expertise in firearm safety and marksmanship across disciplines including.22 rifle and pistol, air rifle and pistol, sporting clays, muzzleloader, and archery.
Three teams from Baxter County claimed third, fourth, and fifth place statewide, demonstrating the group’s collective proficiency. Individual members also delivered standout performances. Josie H. placed seventh overall in the state, taking first in air pistol, second in archery, and fifth in air rifle. Lance L. secured seventh place in sporting clays, while Eli C. achieved fifth in.22 rifle, seventh in muzzleloader, and first in.22 pistol.
Other team members who participated in the competition included Carson D., Lawson L., Olivia K., Boone H., Logan M., Wesley W., Jaida H., and Grant T.
The club, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, is committed to teaching leadership skills and firearm safety. Members train in various disciplines such as air rifle, air pistol,.22-caliber firearms, muzzleloader, archery, and shotgun. They also learn orienteering and wildlife management while participating in programs like the Youth Hunter Education Challenge, the Civilian Marksmanship Program, and 4-H shooting sports events.
