JONESBORO — Ritter Communications, headquartered in Jonesboro, has finalized its merger with Great Plains Communications of Blair, Nebraska, creating a new entity named Rightfiber. The private investment firm Grain Management, which facilitated the merger, announced the completion of the deal on Tuesday, Sept. 2.
Heath Simpson, now CEO of Rightfiber, described the merger as a significant milestone for the company’s customers, employees, and the communities it serves. “The combination creates an organization built on shared values, exceptional people, and a commitment to investing in the communities we serve,” Simpson stated.
Under the new structure, Simpson will lead the combined company as CEO, while Todd Foje, former CEO of Great Plains Communications, will assume the role of executive chairman.
The merger establishes Rightfiber as a major regional fiber network, with a service area covering more than 400 communities in 20 states and a fiber network spanning 28,000 miles. According to the announcement, the merger still requires customary approvals and regulatory review.
The new company aims to build on the customer-first approach and technological expertise of its predecessor organizations, utilizing its expansive footprint to deliver enhanced services to a diverse clientele.
