Mountain Home High School’s golf teams traveled to northeast Arkansas on Wednesday for a nine-hole tournament against Paragould and Greene County Tech, delivering a strong performance on both the boys' and girls' sides.
The Lady Bombers took first place in the girls' competition with a team score of 156. Molly Wright led the team, shooting 45 to secure the individual top spot. Teammate Ashley Smith earned third place overall with a score of 51, while Brylee Blasdel and Ava Caples rounded out the varsity squad with scores of 60 and 66, respectively.
On the boys’ side, the Bombers narrowly missed the top spot, finishing in second place with a team score of 152, just one stroke behind Greene County Tech. Cody Cormican led the Bombers with a score of 36, while Teagan Booy followed closely with a 38. Christian Chamberlin and Bailor Tate both contributed scores of 39, and Braxton Blagg completed the varsity scoring with a 41. Cam Stone added a 42 as an additional strong showing.
Mountain Home’s golf teams are scheduled to return to the course on Thursday for their senior night competition against Flippin and Harrison.
This tournament marks the second consecutive day of competition for the teams as they continue a busy stretch of the season.
