The Baxter Health Foundation is hosting its second annual Bass Classic Banquet and Fishing Tournament in October, with proceeds supporting health care services and programs throughout the Twin Lakes Area. The foundation has set a goal of raising $200,000 through this year’s event, which serves as its sole fundraiser.
Foundation Executive Director Sarah Edwards explained that the funds will help meet critical needs, including new equipment, facility improvements, programs, and support groups at Baxter Health. Proceeds will also benefit the foundation's three community support houses.
The event begins with a banquet on Thursday, Oct. 22, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Baxter Health Foundation Wellness Education Center. Tickets are $50 and include a fish fry, live music, and several prize opportunities. Attendees can purchase tickets online, at the foundation office, or at the community support houses.
The fishing tournament follows on Saturday, Oct. 24, at Norfork Marina in Henderson. Registration is open to anglers of all skill levels and costs $200 per boat. Interested participants can sign up online in advance or in person at the marina on the morning of the event. Registration fees and payouts were detailed on the tournament’s website.
The Bass Classic is part of the foundation’s broader effort to ensure ongoing support for local health care. Baxter Health serves as a key medical provider in the Twin Lakes Area, and events like the Bass Classic help sustain its operations and enhance patient care.
