A six-month investigation by the 16th Judicial District Drug Task Force reached its conclusion Monday with the seizure of approximately 212 grams of methamphetamine and other items linked to suspected drug distribution in Izard County.
According to authorities, officers working with the 16th District Drug Task Force and the Izard County Sheriff’s Department encountered Victoria Watts of Calico Rock during the operation. Officers reported recovering 212 grams of methamphetamine, digital scales, and other drug paraphernalia consistent with methamphetamine distribution. Additionally, investigators seized approximately $500 in U.S. currency and a 2023 Mercedes-Benz. The vehicle is alleged to have been used in connection with drug trafficking activities.
The investigation, which focused on identifying and disrupting methamphetamine distribution in Izard County and surrounding areas of north-central Arkansas, will now be referred to the 16th Judicial District Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for review. Authorities anticipate a potential charge of trafficking methamphetamine against Watts.
Izard County Sheriff Charley Melton emphasized the significance of the case, stating that the partnership between the Izard County Sheriff’s Department and the 16th Judicial District Drug Task Force remains dedicated to aggressively investigating and dismantling illegal narcotics operations. Sheriff Melton added that such collaborative efforts are key to removing substantial quantities of dangerous drugs from the community.
