Two people were killed and two others were injured Friday afternoon in a three-vehicle collision on U.S. Highway 63 near Sedgwick, according to a report from the Arkansas State Police.
The crash occurred at approximately 2:32 p.m. when a southbound Dodge Ram lost its cargo while swerving toward the inside lane. This caused a Ford van in the southbound inside lane to enter the northbound lane, where it collided with a GMC traveling in the northbound outside lane.
The driver of the GMC and a woman passenger were pronounced dead at the scene. Their identities had not been made public as of the weekend.
The driver of the Ford van, Blaine Blasko of Paragould, and his passenger, Keyasha Wheeler of Search, were injured in the crash. Their conditions were not specified in the report.
The accident caused significant delays along the highway as emergency crews responded to the scene and investigated the cause of the collision.
