A burn ban is now in effect across Boone County, according to County Judge Mitchell Archer.

The decision to implement the ban was made following discussions with the county fire coordinator, the Office of Emergency Management, and the Arkansas Forestry Commission. Officials cited safety concerns and current conditions as reasons for the precautionary measure.

The burn ban is effective immediately and applies to all areas within Boone County. Residents are urged to comply with the prohibition to help reduce the risk of fire hazards.
