TRUMANN, Ark. — A Trumann man has been extradited back to Arkansas from Tennessee to face multiple felony charges, including first-degree murder, abuse of a corpse, and tampering with physical evidence.
Rudy A. Ray, 56, waived his right to extradition, according to Trumann Police Chief Doug Thomas. Officers from the Trumann Police Department traveled to Franklin, Tennessee, on Friday, August 28, to take custody of Ray and transport him to Arkansas.
Ray is scheduled for a bond hearing on Monday, August 31, in Poinsett County Circuit Court in Harrisburg.
The arrest stems from a search conducted on Friday, August 21. Around 8:15 a.m., members of the Trumann Police Department SWAT Team and the Poinsett County Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team jointly executed a search warrant at a residence located at 401 N. Pine Avenue in Trumann. During the search, investigators discovered suspected human remains on the property.
Authorities have not released further details regarding the investigation or the identity of the victim. All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
