First Community Bank has promoted Brandt McDonald to senior vice president of retail banking operations and training. The move positions the 12-year banking veteran to lead employee development and product strategies across the institution’s multi-state presence.
In his new role, McDonald will manage the implementation and enhancement of retail banking products while directing training initiatives. His responsibilities include overseeing company-wide educational programs, training new account representatives in the Batesville region, and collaborating with regional trainers across Arkansas and Missouri to maintain consistent service standards.
Tammy Poole, senior vice president of retail banking, praised McDonald’s leadership and dedication. “Brandt has a unique ability to connect with people and create learning experiences that build both knowledge and confidence,” Poole said. “His commitment to developing our employees and supporting our retail teams across every market has strengthened our organization in countless ways. McDonald expressed gratitude for the recognition. “This promotion feels like confirmation that I’m in the right seat with the bank and that my work has been noticed and is making a difference,” he said. “I look forward to continuing to strengthen our training program within the new accounts department and supporting bank-wide initiatives however I am able.”
Over the course of his career, McDonald has been committed to creating training experiences that empower employees. He earned a bachelor’s degree in liberal arts with an emphasis in communications from Williams Baptist University and graduated summa cum laude from the Barret Graduate School of Banking.
Outside of his professional role, McDonald is actively involved in the Batesville Community Theatre, where he directs productions, performs, and manages social media initiatives. He enjoys reading and traveling with family and friends, with trips to Universal Studios and Disney among his favorite destinations.
