A boil water order has been issued for a portion of the Valley Springs Waterworks system in Boone and Marion counties.
The order affects customers in the area north of Tennyson Loop extending to the Harp's Store. Officials issued the advisory on Monday following a break in the water line caused by construction activity.
Residents in the impacted area are urged to boil all water intended for drinking or food preparation. Water should be brought to a rolling boil for at least one minute to ensure safety. Ice made from tap water during this period should also be discarded.
