Urban deer hunting season in Arkansas will officially begin on Tuesday, according to state wildlife officials. Hunters looking to participate must complete payment and registration forms online before taking part in the season.
Urban hunting is permitted in the communities of Cherokee Village and Horseshoe Bend. Unique to these urban hunting zones, there is no limit to the number of deer that can be harvested. However, hunters are required to donate their first deer to the Arkansas Hunters Feeding the Hungry program. This organization works to provide protein-rich venison to food pantries across the state, assisting in hunger relief efforts.
