Arkansas Razorbacks senior tight end Jaden Platt has been named to the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award Watch List, according to an announcement by the Tyler Area Chamber of Commerce and SPORTyler. The award recognizes the nation's top offensive player who exhibits the qualities associated with football legend Earl Campbell, including integrity, performance, teamwork, sportsmanship, drive, community involvement, and tenacity.
Eligibility for the award is limited to players born in Texas and/or those who attended a Texas high school, junior college, or university. Platt, a native of Haslet, Texas, graduated from Eaton High School in Fort Worth before joining the Razorbacks.
Platt returns for his senior season after starting 11 games and appearing in all 12 during the 2025 campaign. Last year, he recorded 21 receptions totaling 296 yards and scored two touchdowns. One of his standout performances came on Nov. 22 in Arkansas's final road game against Texas, where he delivered a career-high 66 receiving yards on four catches, including an eight-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter. Another notable game came on Sept. 13 in a loss to Ole Miss, where he posted three receptions for 53 yards.
The Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award Watch List, announced annually in the preseason, will be narrowed down to up to 16 semifinalists in November and then to up to 5 finalists in December. The winner will be selected by a panel of broadcasters, commentators, journalists, fans, and previous award recipients. The honoree will be announced in December and celebrated at The Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award Banquet in Tyler, Texas, on January 27, 2027.
In addition to being named to this watch list, Platt has earned preseason recognition on the John Mackey Award, Allstate Wuerffel Trophy, and AllState AFCA Good Works Team watch lists.
The Razorbacks will kick off their 2026 season on Sept. 5 at Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium in Fayetteville, facing North Alabama at 3:15 p.m.
